Post-procedure guidance

The time after an aesthetic procedure is crucial for a pleasant skin feel. Targeted, gentle care can help support well-being. Here you will find proven tips for the first few days that complement the recommendations of your treating professional and provide you with confidence in handling the sensitive eye area.

Recommendations after an eyelid procedure

Following an aesthetic or medical procedure in the eyelid area, the skin is in a particularly sensitive phase. Appropriate, gentle aftercare can support the healing process and make recovery more comfortable. The following recommendations provide guidance for the first days and weeks after the procedure and complement the instructions given by your healthcare professional.

1

Cooling and soothing relief for the eye area

In the first 48–72 hours after the procedure, the eyelid area often reacts with slight swelling, redness, or a feeling of tension.

We recommend:

  • Regular, gentle cooling of the eyelids (e.g., with the LIDESSENCE cooling mask and sterile compresses)
  • Keeping the head slightly elevated while lying down
  • Avoiding pressure or rubbing on the treated area
  • Using a soft sleep mask while sleeping to reduce uncontrolled contact

The cooling serves to enhance comfort and can provide pleasant relief to the sensitive area.

2

Reduce everyday stress on the skin

In the first few days, the following stressors should be kept to a minimum:

  • prolonged reading or working on the screen
  • strong blinking or rubbing of the eyes
  • physical exertion and sports
  • sources of heat (sauna, steam bath, tanning bed, hot showers with direct water contact in the facial area)
  • strong wind, dust, or smoke

3

Gentle cleansing and care

A careful but gentle hygiene supports the natural regeneration process.

Recommendations:

  • Gently clean the eyelids, for example, with LIDESSENCE sterile cleaning wipes
  • Avoid makeup and oily products in the first few days
  • Gently pat the skin dry, do not rub
  • Avoid peels, abrasive products, or unsuitable home remedies

After the wound healing is complete, LIDESSENCE Advanced Repair can be used as a tailored care product to support the skin barrier and soothe the sensitive area.

4

Sleep and recovery

  • Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated
  • Avoid pressure on the eye area
  • Plan sufficient rest and relaxation

5

What to avoid

  • Direct sunlight exposure on the treated area
  • Applying makeup to the eyelids as long as scabs are present
  • Wearing contact lenses until the treating specialist agrees
  • Swimming, sauna, intense sweating
  • Rubbing, scratching, or removing scabs

6

Scar care after wound healing is complete

Once the wound is fully closed:

  • gentle massage along the scar (if approved by a doctor)
  • application of a suitable care cream such as LIDESSENCE Advanced Repair
  • also consistent sun protection for the scar (sun protection factor 50+)

7

Typical and normal reactions

In the days following a procedure, the following phenomena may occur:

  • mild to moderate swelling
  • discoloration (bruising, yellowish/blue)
  • feeling of tension or slight burning
  • temporary dryness or sensitivity

These reactions are common and usually subside within a few days.

8
