  • How often should I perform the follow-up treatment? How often do I need to apply ice per day?

    Apply at least 3 times daily for 3 to 5 days or as directed by your doctor.

  • When should I start cleaning and cooling?

    Start cooling immediately after the procedure.


    The eyelids are cleaned as needed or twice daily from the 2nd day after the procedure.


    Please discuss this with your doctor, especially if you are still wearing a bandage.

  • How long should I refrigerate it?

    Usually 10–15 minutes per application, at least 3 times daily, unless your doctor recommends otherwise.

  • What should I avoid in the first few days?

    The following activities should be avoided during the early healing phase:


    • Water on the wound
    • Swimming pool and sauna
    • Sports and heavy lifting
    • frequent bending
    • hot showers
    • Eye makeup
    • Rub eyes
    • Contact lenses
    • direct sunlight
    • dusty or smoky rooms

  • May I rub my eyes?

    No. Rubbing or pressure in the surgical area should be avoided.

    If itching occurs, you can gently dab the area with a sterile LIDESSENCE cleansing wipe.

  • Can I wear contact lenses?

    Contact lenses should not be used again until your doctor gives you permission.

  • How much strain can I put on my eyes in everyday life?

    In the first few days after the procedure, screen work, reading and intensive smartphone use should be reduced.

  • What reactions are normal?

    The following reactions are common and usually subside within a few days:


    • slight swelling
    • Feelings of tension
    • Redness
    • minor discolorations

    However, hematomas (bruises) can remain visible for 1 to 2 weeks.

  • When should I contact my doctor?

    Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:


    • sudden severe swelling
    • acute bleeding
    • severe pain
    • Double vision
    • Visual impairment
    • Signs of infection such as purulent discharge from the wound

    If you experience increasing symptoms or uncertainties, you should also contact your doctor.

  • Why is gentle cleaning important?

    The eyelids are particularly sensitive after the procedure. Gentle cleaning supports hygiene without putting stress on the tissue.


    The following should be strictly avoided during wound healing:


    • Washing the eyelids under running water
    • Application of shampoos, gels, cleansing lotions or make-up removers
    • other chemical substances in the eye area

    Such products can lead to infections, impaired wound healing, severe swelling, or unwanted scarring.

  • Why do I need sterile compresses for the cooling mask?

    Sterile compresses serve as a hygienic intermediate layer between the skin and the cooling mask and help to reduce the risk of germ transmission.

    They also provide a gentle, calming feeling after a procedure.

  • May I warm up the cooling mask?

    During the postoperative phase, the mask may only be used for cooling.

    Heating is only permitted after the wound has completely healed.

  • Can I also use the cooling mask and pads for heat therapy?

    Once the wound has healed, the mask, along with the gel pad, can also be used for heat applications, for example to relax the eye area or as part of gentle eyelid care, combined with subsequent cleansing using LIDESSENCE cleansing wipes. The gel pad should be heated in warm water and not in a microwave.


    Important: During the healing phase, heat applications are not permitted, as they can increase swelling and impair healing.

  • When can I start scar care?

    Only after the wound has completely closed and as recommended by your doctor.

  • Are the products suitable for sensitive skin?

    Yes. All LIDESSENCE products are designed for the sensitive eye area and are proven to be suitable for sensitive skin.

  • Can I reorder the products individually?

    Yes. The LIDESSENCE cleansing wipes, sterile compresses and the Advanced Repair scar cream are available individually in our webshop.
